R.Horn Railroad Photos

Untitled photo

All of the photos in this section were taken by my dad, Richard Horn. A lifelong railfan, he began collecting timetables in the early 1930s. As a resident of Chicago, he was also able to view and photograph operations of railroads based in all parts of the country.

Around 1950, he acquired a Kodak Retina 1a camera and began shooting Kodachrome slides, at which time both the quality and quantity of his photos rose dramatically. There are several hundred photos in this collection, and new content will be added as quickly as time permits.
